About the project

We were to provide new furnishings, rugs, window treatments, lighting, paint, artwork, built-ins, wallpaper, and accessories. We were also asked to do some construction in the way of a primary bathroom and powder room refresh, new fireplace stone, new tile work, and demolition and cleaning up areas of the home that didn't reflect the client's desire for spaces that felt modernized and feminine.

Our client had gone through a monumental moment in life and wanted to change her home to reflect her personal style and the next chapter of life. It was a time of transition and healing as we sought to provide a feminine home that was also comfortable for two wonderful children.
This client is one of the most optimistic and appreciative people we've ever known. She had a defined style and taste but allowed us to steer her to take risks and upgrade elements of her home that were holding her rowhouse back from shining. We worked with a team of great vendors to upgrade small elements throughout the entire home. We kept the colors clean and fresh and juxtaposed feminine pinks against classic blacks and whites. We added dynamic punches with patterned wallpaper and vibrant modern artwork.
In Capitol Hill row houses we are always especially mindful of scale, storage, and overall function of the various spaces. We were able to provide the client with more storage, better furniture layouts and scale, and impactful focal points of beauty.
This client and project in particular reflects one of the most beautiful aspects of what we do. We meet people where they are in life, listen to their needs, and through trust and experience create spaces that reflect what they're asking for. A home should reflect the habitants inside and sometimes rebalancing that equation can provide a sense of true healing and happiness. We have just been called in to do a new home with this wonderful client, and we couldn't feel more enthusiastic to begin!
