Georgetown
Washington, DC
About the project
We were tasked with breathing new life into a beloved Georgetown alumni association building, reimagining it into a welcoming and functional space for students and alumni. This project included a full range of design elements: lighting, AV systems, paint, flooring, window treatments, and furniture.
-
Our goal was to respect the building’s historical integrity while giving it a more residential feel that would align with the spirit of the neighborhood. The spaces needed to feel sophisticated and comfortable while being durable enough to host events.
-
The palette nods to Georgetown’s official colors while introducing warmth and texture throughout. The combination of handsome light fixtures and tailored window treatments adds a timeless elegance to the space. The final design reflects both the university’s prestige and a welcoming atmosphere that alumni and students alike can feel at home in.
-
There were unforeseen issues with outdated wiring, warped floors, and other structural concerns that required extra attention. Managing the budget to accommodate these challenges while still delivering a curated, functional space was a delicate balance.
-
Being invited to the grand opening of The Reed Residence was such a delight. The excitement from the alumni and students who gathered to celebrate the space was incredibly gratifying.
